Procedure:

Step 1: Discuss the need of cooling in building services and its change in demand from the last few decades with students.

Step 2: Ask students to list down the solutions that come in their mind for cooling.

Step 3: Introduce the term active design strategies and passive design strategy to students.

Step 4: Ask students to mark the listed solution with active and passive design strategies.

Step 5: Ask students to come up with a list of passive design strategies in the next class.

Step 6: In the next class ask students to collectively list down passive strategies.

Step 7: Reflect and discuss how passive design strategies can help in power saving and reducing pollution.
