To understand importance of ventilation for thermal comfort

Students will understand how to design well ventilated spaces and start thinking about solving issues in barely ventilated spaces.

Prerequisites

Fundamental Understanding of temperature and humidity

Procedure

Step 1: Enter your bathroom after someone has taken a bath with hot water with all the openings closed. Observe the steam formed on the tiles of the walls. 

Step 2: Note your thermal sensation and comfort level.

Step 3: Switch on the exhaust fan and open the louvres of the window.

Step 4: Observe how the exhaust is driving away the heat and humidity from the bathroom.
