Hot or cool?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2: <\/em><\/strong>Discuss how\u00a0 convection\u00a0 is taking place in order to cool the body. When we lie down on the cot, the air around the body will be hotter than the air closer to the floor creating a thermal gradient and facilitating a continuous convective flow of air that takes away the body heat .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Compare sleeping on this cot versus sleeping on a cot with a thick mattress, on a hot day without active cooling.
