{"id":2370,"date":"2023-06-12T12:10:59","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T12:10:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/?post_type=activity&#038;p=2370"},"modified":"2024-02-05T10:21:10","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T10:21:10","slug":"oven-in-a-refrigerator","status":"publish","type":"activity","link":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/activity\/oven-in-a-refrigerator\/","title":{"rendered":"Oven in a Refrigerator"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong> Discuss the logic behind building ovens and then cooling them with refrigerators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Outcome:<\/strong> Students will understand how environmentally faulty design leads to entrapment of heat inside the buildings which then is drawn out by mechanical ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites:<\/strong> A conceptual knowledge of processes of heat transfer and passive design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 1: Set context in the class about the topic- Oven in Refrigerator by asking how students relate to the words Oven and Refrigerator and Oven in refrigerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2: Ask the next question to students: What can cause heat to get trapped inside a building?
