{"id":2390,"date":"2023-06-13T07:55:43","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T07:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/?post_type=activity&#038;p=2390"},"modified":"2023-06-13T07:55:43","modified_gmt":"2023-06-13T07:55:43","slug":"air-motion-ventilation","status":"publish","type":"activity","link":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/activity\/air-motion-ventilation\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Motion &amp; Ventilation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-2\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>To Study air motion &amp; ventilation patterns in a building with the help of an Incense Stick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outcome:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will understand the importance of natural ventilation while designing a space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Incense Stick, Matchbox, Floor Plan of College building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>None<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 1: <\/em><\/strong>Based on the total rooms in the college, organize the class such a way that each room is allotted to either a student or a group, depending on the number of students,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2: <\/em><\/strong>Using a matchbox, blow a few incense sticks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 3: <\/em><\/strong>Give incense sticks to each student\/group and ask them to go to their allotted classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 4: <\/em><\/strong>Place the incense stick at the centre of the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 5:<\/em><\/strong> Switch off all the fans of the classroom and open all the openings of the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 6:<\/em><\/strong> Observe the motion smoke (air) of the incense stick and mark on the floor plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 7:<\/em><\/strong> After coming back to the classroom, stick the floor plans on the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 8:<\/em><\/strong> Observe the difference in the motion of the air in the different classrooms on the floor plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 9:<\/em><\/strong> Analyse and Reflect on the patterns of the air movement as observed in different scenarios.
