{"id":2456,"date":"2023-06-14T07:27:17","date_gmt":"2023-06-14T07:27:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/?post_type=activity&#038;p=2456"},"modified":"2023-06-14T07:29:24","modified_gmt":"2023-06-14T07:29:24","slug":"compressor-bi-cycle-pedal","status":"publish","type":"activity","link":"https:\/\/fairconditioning.org\/fc-activity\/activity\/compressor-bi-cycle-pedal\/","title":{"rendered":"Compressor &amp; Bi-cycle Pedal\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-2\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Replacing the power source of a compressor of an air conditioner (window Air conditioner) with bicycle pedal as the power source<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outcome:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will understand using alternative power sources to power an air conditioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Bi-cycle sprocket with operational Pedal, an old working Air Conditioner from junk yard or an air conditioner in the college.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge about working of Window air conditioner, air compressor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understanding of mechanical energy to power an electrical device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 1: <\/em><\/strong>Open up an air conditioner&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2: <\/em><\/strong>Study the electrical connection of the air conditioner. Images for reference provided. An engineer or a resource person would be ideal to be inclusive in this experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 3: <\/em><\/strong>Identify the components required to connect a Bicycle pedal apparatus to an AC using a DC motor.<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>Create a blueprint of connecting the bicycle to the electrical wires in the AC .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 4<\/em><\/strong>: Execute the connections.
