class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>To derive names of refrigerants from their refrigerant numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To learn about the concept of Global Warming Potentials for conventional and natural refrigerants.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outcome:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Students will be sensitized about the hazardous impacts of conventional refrigerants due to high GWP value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students will come to know that natural refrigerants are a sustainable, viable option to replace them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Currency notes, coins<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Refrigerant nomenclature<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concept of Global Warming Potential (GWP).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 1:<\/em><\/strong> Create eight groups from amongst students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2:<\/em><\/strong> Ask each group to choose from the following conventional refrigerants:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>R410A<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R22<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R134A<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R32<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R290<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R1270<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R744<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R717<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 3:<\/em><\/strong> Each group to classify their refrigerant based on refrigerant type (HCFC, HFC etc.) and determine their GWP values for a 100 year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 4:<\/em><\/strong> Assign one rupee to a GWP value of 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 5:<\/em><\/strong> Before coming to the next class, each group will bring the money equating to the GWP values for their chosen refrigerants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 6: <\/em><\/strong>In the next class, ask each group to tell the name of the refrigerant, and the money that they have brought.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 7:<\/em><\/strong> Write these values on the board along with the corresponding group-name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 8:<\/em><\/strong> The group having the least amount of money, is the richest (environmentally) amongst them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 9: <\/em><\/strong>Succeed the game by discussing the issues of conventional refrigerants having high GWP and the alternative of natural refrigerants as a sustainable viable option.<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 10: <\/em><\/strong>Each group researches and shares atleast one natural refrigerant\u2019s name and its environmental impact, uses, possible cooling system systems and case
