The faculty will be preparing students to gather the required information of their own building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One can either take their own residential building\/house or neighbouring commercial building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 1:<\/em><\/strong> Introduce the background and the ECBC guidelines document for both Residential and Commercial buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 2: <\/em><\/strong>Give the students exercise to go through and understand the ECBC document. Allocate a few sections within different groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Ask each group to share the findings of the sections with the entire class to enable holistic understanding of the guideline document<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Give instruction to students explaining how to do the compliance analysis of ECBC of a building&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 5: <\/em><\/strong>Create a checklist of information collectively, required to do the ECBC compliance analysis&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 6: <\/em><\/strong>Form groups of two students each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 7:<\/strong> Each group collects data of the building to be studied as per the created checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 8: <\/em><\/strong>Analyse the building by comparing the building\u2019s information with the ECBC requirements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Step 9: <\/em><\/strong>Give a rating of the building<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 10:<\/strong> Discuss on the design recommendations to make the building can perform better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 11:<\/strong> Reflect and share the findings with the entire class.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">References<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/beeindia.gov.in\/sites\/default\/files\/BEE_ECBC%202017.pdf\">https:\/\/beeindia.gov.in\/sites\/default\/files\/BEE_ECBC%202017.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Objective Outcome Students will learn to integrate energy efficient design features and approach while designing a building.
