Step 1: <\/em><\/strong>Introduce the basic mathematical calculation of carbon footprinting in the class<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carbon Footprint: Activity X Emission Factor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

where, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carbon Footprint unit = metric tons of CO2e<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activity = Pattern of food, energy consumptions, transportation usage, etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emission Factor = Relevant default emission factor of each activity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/em><\/strong>Each student can conduct carbon footprinting for their own house using an online footprint calculator. Some of the suggested calculators are referred to in the references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: <\/em><\/strong>Initiate a discussion in the class to facilitate sharing of the results and the learnings, some of the prompt questions suggested are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
