We have the technology, we need the policy

A year ago, Commissioner Cañete promised that heating and cooling would play a lead role in the Energy Union’s quest for energy efficiency. Lars Tveen, the president of the Danfoss Heating Segment now asks if this promise will be delivered and if its potential will be considered in the sector.

Providing a comprehensive strategy on heating and cooling systems, sends a positive political signal to the entire energy-efficiency industry. Being a leader in energy-efficient technology, and following this strategy, the European Commissions understands the potential of heating and cooling buildings efficiently. This is one of the first decisive steps forward in de-carbonising the heating and cooling sector, in order to make Europe more energy secure and competitive.
