Heat Action Walk

PREMISE

The Heat Action March is a nationwide civic campaign demanding the inclusion of informal settlements in state Heat Action Plans. Residents, youth, students, and community organisations are documenting heat realities through walks, mapping workshops, storytelling, and street performances – turning lived experience into evidence for policy change.

We will be marching in five cities in India – Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune – to demand dedicated budgets for heat-resilient housing, heat action targets in municipal policy, and inclusion in political party manifestos. Recommendations will be submitted to state authorities, municipal corporations, and housing boards, while elected representatives and impact investors will be engaged for long-term community-led solutions.
